The Nordic Frugal Innovation Society ry organized during 25-26 April 2016 at Heureka, Vantaa, InnoFrugal 2016 conference, the objective of which is to create a common ground for development of frugal innovations in developing countries and Finland/EU for the benefit of sustainable economic growth.
Based on the interactions with SMEs and entrepreneurs both in emerging markets and in Finland over the years, there is growing interest in creating accessible and affordable solutions with new technologies and business models. The Nordic Frugal Innovations Society ry in partnership with like minded partners such as Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Tekes, Indian Embassy, Heureka and Keksintösäätiö have organized InnoFrugal 2016 conference during 25-26 April 2016 at Heureka, Vantaa to showcase and help foster such innovations.
InnoFrugal engaged innovators, policy makers, businesses and entrepreneurs, including startups, in creating and offering these frugal solutions for emerging markets. We were also able to show that Frugal innovations can also become important elements for the Finnish economy in the form of new business activity and new jobs in Finland. InnoFrugal helped exchange information on sectors such as Healthcare, DIY/Maker Movement, Education, Urbanisation, Automotives and Inclusive Businesses in the Finnish, Nordic and EU markets, thereby creating a similar mindset in and potential for future collaboration among various players across the national borders. Once the pioneering businesses start to adapt this concept, it would show a path for other entrepreneurs and SMEs to start offering affordable and innovative solutions to emerging markets and also here in Finland. This is a long-term commitment from our side and InnoFrugal acted as a step towards this objective. The Nordic Frugal Innovation Society ry, Betonimiehenkuja 3 E, 02150 Espoo, Finland.
